In our never-ending quest to create a revitalized Forum and attract CMC’s most talented writers and students, ASCMC is introducing a new kind of journalist to the CMC campus: the Forum Fellow.

Writing at least one high-quality blog entry a week, you can make up to $250 a semester, with further opportunities for end-of-semester pay bonuses.

ASCMC is currently accepting applications for at least four Fellows, and more positions may open as the year goes on:

Campus Analyst (2 positions available)

Cover CMC stories and provide in-depth features, interviews, and news analysis. Writing skills and style are important. Prior journalism or blog experience is also preferred, but not necessary.

CMCulture Society Columnist (1 position available)

You know you’ve envied Carrie Bradshaw’s job. Now is your chance to have it! As the society columnist of CMC, your job will to stimulate and educate Stags and Athenas on the fine art of romance, parties, debauchery, and CMC society. Excellent writing skills and personal style are a must.

CMCulture Humor Columnist (1 position available)
Angry about something at the dining hall?  Notice the degradation of today’s young stag?  Intelligently rant about topics worthy to be affiliated with our beloved institution’s name. (You still have to know how to write).

Other (Sports? Alumni Series? Athenaeum reviews?)

If you have an idea for a regular feature that is not listed, apply anyway and we’ll talk about some possibilities.

Anyone with an interest in writing and contributing to the success of a new CMC student portal and news blog is encouraged to apply! Go to thecmcforum.com/apply to fill out an easy initial application. Applications are due by midnight, August 24.

Also, if you are a current CMC blogger who would consider having your content syndicated, please email us. We’ll make it worth your while.

If you have any questions, let me know. I look forward to hearing from you all!

Best,
